Le Magnifique
Carnaval du Grotesque

A haunted carnival world where the grotesque is the spectacle: murderous clowns, fire breathers, aerial artists, and dark circus performers inhabit a fully immersive scare world at Knott's Scary Farm.

The host

Step right up

Presiding over the chaos, a ringmaster ushers you into a world where aerialists hang in the smoke and nothing on stage is quite safe.

The danger

Real fire, real risk

No camera tricks: live flame and real heat, the old sideshow danger staged for a modern Halloween crowd.

The heights

Up in the rigging

Aerialists climb above the crowd and drop through the smoke, the spectacle carried clean off the ground, out over your head.

The welcome

It begins before it begins

The carnival sends its clowns to greet you first (Cuchillo in 2023, Oopsy Daisy in the seasons after) with the kind of warmth you don’t quite trust. By the time the curtain rises, you’re already part of it.

The story

A carnival with a plot

When Rovin Jay took over the Carnaval in 2023, it was pure spectacle: a revue of grotesque acts with no thread to follow. He wrote one in, turning a parade of separate numbers into a single dark story.
