For over 20 years, Rovin Jay has directed plays and musical theatre productions throughout Southern California, primarily at the Long Beach Playhouse where he serves on the board. Theatre productions that he has directed include August Wilson's Fences; Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical; August Wilson's Seven Guitars; Flight by Charlayne Woodard; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; Rent; Godspell; Jesus Christ Superstar; and Once on This Island.
Rovin is also a live entertainment show director at Knott's Berry Farm, America's oldest theme park, where he has written and directed several atmosphere shows and entertainment offerings including the most recent iterations of Le Magnifique Carnaval du Grotesque and the award-winning Ghost Town Alive!
Rovin received his BA in theatre from the California State University, Fullerton. He is an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
